Would anyone happen to have a spare gas tank sending unit float - so just the "bobber" part that clips in the end of the arm:

A cork for a thermos bottle works. Either that, or if you can find the leak, solder it shut. Drill a little hole to drain the gas, and solder it and the leak shut.

You may be able to find the leak by holding the float under water and squeezing it, looking for bubbles. Otherwise, try cooling the float and then holding it under hot water. As the air inside the float warms, it should expand and leave a stream of bubbles.

I've repaired one of these, but I could see the leak.

    Mine is plastic...

It looks to be leaking in a couple spots, I was able to fix one by melting in some plastic from a spoon, but the other spot didn't work.

Boyink, I have a plastic and a metal one. Which do you prefer?

Someone here gave me the part number from a Ford vehicle and I bought it brand new. The guy even had it in stock. Clipped perfectly into the little wire arm on the sender. But...I've since lost the info.
