So... I just got my new '74 and now I can't find a package deal on a bikini, windjammer and tonneau. What gives? Aside from buying a whole new soft top for her, what are my options? Why are there so many choices for 76-83 CJ5s and only a "Traditional Bikini" for the 55-75 crowd?

    Any suggestions or substitutions? :?

    Windshield frame differences I'd suspect.

Yup. If you have a '74, the bikini from an early model will fit. I have a '73 w/s on speedy and used the same bikini. hth

Swap windshield frames, then you can use the later bikini top options.

I hear ya about the aftermarket parts for the pre 76er's. Would a rear deck cover work from a later CJ5??? I thought the only difference in the pre and post 76er's was the windshield frame. Is the body longer as well??
Sorry to Hyjack, but I'm interested in this too.

    Thanks and good luck

I've never heard of a toneau or windjammer for our early model jeeps. Bikini yes but not the other. I've also never heard of anyone even trying to make a later model work. Not sure what the differences are. Probably just could be the fact that most of our early rigs weren't sold with roll bars and the windjammer would attach to the roll bar. The toneau should be the same width, but not sure about the length.

Try JC Whitney Jeep Section. You may be surprised.
There's always 4-Wheel Parts & Off Road in Ohio.
It's difficult to tell from the photo, but i appears that your windshield slants to the rear (possible post '75 frame) - make certain that it's a pre-'75 winshield frame.
Pre-'75 WS frame - Rectangular glass & the WS frame sits perpendicular to the body, no rearward slant.

Easiest windsheild ID is by the wiper motor location. After '75 the wiper motor moved to the inside of the cabin. Before that it was in a can on the outside.

Thanks for the ideas... I don't know squat on this vehicle's history. I just know engine stuff, nothing on the body. I guess I can order and return in a worst case scenerio. Thanks. ;)

My motor is on the outside. It does still lean a little to the back, 71-75 i think do it a little more.
