Can I use a set of '74 seat brackets in my '59 cj5? I'm have the under-seat tank and need something to hold the seat up. Was planning on fabricating something until I saw these. If they don't work, does anyone have an earlier set for sale? thanks.

First question is what kind of seat/s do you have? The seat frame for the earlier years was part of the seat. It in essence was also the bracket.

The '74 seat bracket will fit over the under-seat tank. I put the Jeep under-seat tank in my '73 CJ with no changes to the seat brackets.

The driver's seat has slide tracks that look to line up with the brackets I'm considering. The passenger seat has been modified but looks like it will work. Thanks again.

Speaking of Seats and brackets, does anyone know where I could get both seats and brackets for the front on a 1971 cj5?

No, No, I don't think those particular brackets you're looking at will work. Might want to keep looking. R)
