Cj5 '75 identification problems....

    Im 19 young and dumb bought a 75 cj5 with a barral carb on it with a 3 spd tranny. The carb and ignition box keeps messing up on me and i go to get a new carb and the guys at the parts store say its a 1bbl so i want to know what exactly the motor is? and so on.

    This is an inline 6? Look at the passenger side of the engine block for the build date code. It will be between and underneath the #3 and #4 spark plugs. Look for something like "8 09 A 25" ... the numbers tell the date of manufacture, and the letter tells the displacement and whether its a 1 or 2-barrel carb version.
