Does anyone use a pertronix?

    I am looking to use a pertronix ignition in my 3B. I've heard they are a pretty good upgrade. I was wondering what I would need to buy to install this.

    Kit for me as well. Worth its weight in gold as far as I'm concerned!

    You running an F-head? If so, a Solex is the next best investment IMHO.

    Yeah I have the f head. Your talking about the ignitor kit right?
    Also looked at the solex carb, sounds nice, now I want to do that too.

    Si. Ignitor kit #1541 worked for me, but double-check your distributor number against the one on the Pertronix web site to be sure.

    Do it. It starts on the first click of the key, every time. The Solex on the other hand, stumbles a bit when cold, but it starts very easily, and runs like a top once tuned. Huge improvement over a worn-out Carter carb. IMHO, it's hard to beat the Pertronix / Solex combo on an L- or F-head 4.
