    Hello,

I'm new here, but not new to the Jeep world. I have a 1976 CJ-7, had a 76 CJ-5. I still have the '76. Last weekend I was given another one that is rekindleing my interest.

I am not sure of it's age, but have a range.

The ID tag under the hood shows 57548 150348.

It has the F head 134 with a Carter YF single barrel
    By pass style oil filter
    Oil bath air cleaner
Combination fuel/ vacume pump on the left of the motor
    Vacume wipers
Twin stick transfer case (Spicer 18?)
It has been hacked to 12 volts, was a six volt system as evidenced by the generator bracket.
The hood has the cut out on the right side.

It's almost dark here, I can shoot some pics in the am if needed. Any guess as to the year?:?

    Thanks for the help

I'll guess late '62 or '63. Jim Allen's book has 1962's beginning serial number as 134748, but no ending s/n.

    Yup, 12V generator.

6V stopped being an option in what '57?

Thanks guys, I didn't know when the cut off was for six volts. I play with old Ford tractors and they are all six volts:oops: I guess I have it on the brain now;)

Here are a couple of pics for you. I have my work cut out for me for sure!

First order of business is to cut the plow off!!!!

Nice looking JEEP! A good portion of us started off with rigs in worse condition. It'll make you a nice project ;)

Nice looking Jeep. If you want to feel better about your Jeep, look at the thread "Chia does exist" over in Introductions.
