Jared, never built a tow bar, but I've owned and used one. There's no mechanism to align the wheels - you just pull and it'll track straight.

If you have a Ross box, disconnect the drag link at the forward end and you shouldn't have any tracking problems, that may be covered in the mentioned threads.

FWIW, I never did this and had 0 tracking issues. I'm still convinced tracking issues are related to tow-bar length, and longer in this case is better.

    :iagree:
make the tow bar length as long as you can
a longer ball mount from the tow vehicle is a no-no

If it's a handful during normal driving yer gonna have towing problems. I'd suggest you work out the steering problems before you try and tow it as the same stuff applies regardless whether it's being towed or driven by the rear wheels. Nickmil.

The wheels tracking straight is more a function of alignment, ie: caster and tow in. I aggree with nickmil, if it doesn't drive good it won't flat tow good either. A longer tow bar also helps. I made mine 4ft long and haven't had any issues yet.
