    Hello everyone, my name's Willy.
    Thanks
    First time posting, second Jeep.

I've got an itermediate intermediate. My frame and running gear is(was) 1975, (232-T14-D20). The VIN tag sez Sept 1975 and the VIN decodes as a 1976. The frame rails a straight back but one of the PO's put a '76 body on it and added the extra mounts where the '76 would have widened out. Either the Jeep was caught in the middle of the production years (based on the VIN) OR the PO(s) put it together using whatever parts they could get their hands on. So I have a '75 frame and '76 body.

With that said. I'm transplanting a Chevy 350-SM465-D20 combo into it. I want to keep the drive line as close to stock as possible so I plan on mounting the tranny/t-case in or near the stock position.

Anybody got any useless or useful information? TIA.

I'm sure that one of the POs put it together. No shortage of bodies - you could buy complete, new bodies from the Jeep parts catalog well past the model change.

Have you read Novak's site? Lots of info there if you follow the links.

Thanks Tim. I've checked out Novak and have all the parts I think I need on the way. I was just wondering if anyone here had any tips, tricks or otherwise bad experiences they could remember off the top of their head.
