So I am on my rear tail lights in my EZ wiring harness. There is a left signal, right signal, park and third brake. What about the first brake:) ? Does EZ make my brake lights go on through the "park" line? They must, right? considering the brake lights are more important then parking lights. They couldn't have forgotten them.

And your opinion. Do I need to wrap the harness in electrical tape when I'm done? I don't see tape providing that much protection, what about just a ton of little zip ties instead?

Brake lights use the turn signal wires. Your rear turn signals are just the brake lights switching on and off.

If you use a single-bulb taillight (an 1157) the same filament is used for the turn signals as for the brakes. The lower intensity filament is used for the running lights.

In some cases the factory would use something like electrical tape, but no adhesive. It was wrapped around and tied at each end. You can use plastic loom, zip ties, electrical tape, whatever makes you happy. There's also aircraft (?) loom, which is like doublewide dental floss. You tie up the wires as a package with 99% of the wires exposed - sort of like trussing up a roast. Takes some skill to do this though, but it looks neat.

Check the electronics surplus places for big bags of zip ties.

I like using the plastic loom, mixed with a little electrical tape, and some zip ties as well. The loom gives it a nice clean look, but can get expensive depending on where you get it. I did one a few years ago and spent over $200 on loom alone.

Excellent, thanks guys. The brake lights now make sense to me. Now if I could just figure out the alternator:mad: .

I am just gonna put a bunch of 4 inch zip ties everywhere. Atleast every 5 inches, maybe every 2. I am an electrical apprentice, so I get these free.R)

Holy Toot - I bought a roll of 50' of spiral plastic loom at Mouser for $10 or something like that. I made speaker cables from loom and CAT-5. Maybe it's not fireproof... I can look it up if you're interested, or ask Mouser to send you a catalog.

Tell me about it, I can get it alot cheaper now. It was back when I was young and stupid, and had to have a certain color, and got drunk and went way overboard on amounts of each size. I had a whole box of the stuff left over, and ended up giving it all away cause I won't ever do it in green again.

That loom is expenisve if you buy it in the short lengths. NAPA also sells a 50' roll. It was a little more than $10, IIRC, but was much cheaper than the short lengths at the other FLAPS.

That's correct we sell the black split loom by the foot at NAPA. It comes in sizes from 3/8" to 1 1/2 or 2 IIRC. It is cheaper that way than in the display packs. Also there are T's available to dress things up if you want.:)
