D30 axle and brakes disc vs drum

What do you think is better? The 72 has disc brakes in the front and the 73 has drum. I got a YJ brake booster and m/c to give me power brakes. I was just seeing what everyone thinks about the difference between drum and disc.

 

I took it one step further and went 4 wheel disk....

 

Disks are preferred today because they are more fade resistant, self-cleaning (water in particular), and they last longer before needing service.

I also did the XJ/YJ booster on mine. I highly recommend using the booster, proportioning valve, master cylinder, and pedal assembly as a complete unit:

I prefer disc brakes, less parts to fall off...and easier to install new pads.

 

Stepping on the brakes and ending up in the same lane is one benifit of discs. The deciding factor for me was "caught on a bad slope with wet drums."
