body mounts

the body mounts on my 71 were shot when i pulled the tub.... i want to replace them with a no more than 1" body lift from daystar.... i cant seem to find where they make one for our early 5's.... who have you guys used and is there really any big diff in brands? TIA

 

If not going OE, just get the generic poly bushing body mounts from your FLAPS. You want about a 1-1/2" or maybe 2" diameter puck. If you want a kit, Krage's sells a set for ~$20+ ship.

 

I have also seen some ppl use hocky pucks, they are cheap and hard solid rubber and they give about 1 in lift. just for thought if you were trying to go cheap.

 

cheap really isnt something i was going with, but it does work.... just wondering if anyone makes a kit for the early's, and do the kits like daystar do anything for you above something like a hockey puck, etc.....

 

You can use a body lift for an intermediate CJ. At least the hard polycaronate ones will work. I used them on my '67. You'll have some left over. I used the hard plastic (I think they are ploycarbonate) with a polyurethane puck at each mount.

 

ok, guess i will look into those.... still wonder why daystar is so much more money??? think i will order that set from either 4wd or krage
