    Hi Jim,

Thanks for sharing your progress in getting your cj6 back in shape after our Rubicon trip.

I'll need to get me some of those spring plates.

    Any pics from the trip?
Do you have any pictures of how your rear seat is mounted? I have a seat from a YJ I want to install but not sure how I should mount it.

That's my Jeep rather than Jims -- and my rear seat is an aftermarket version rather than YJ.

This is the motor I got w/ the 88 Lincoln donor I picked up sat.
Gonna install it w/ the harness and computer this winter. I'm also thinking I'll put a hydro clutch setup at the same time. I'll probably install the leather buckets from the Lincoln into the 6 as well :)
I've decided to do a wrangler spring swap....if the money holds up that'll happen this winter too.

The motor is a high output 5-0 like they put in the GT mustangs.

with what little light is left after work I've slowly been getting the 5.0 ready to pull. I've got the harness disconnected and tranny/exhaust out. I'll pull the motor out tomorrow, that'll give me time over the holiday to get some cleaning/prep done. Got some hanging pedals coming (thanks Windyhill) gonna run across town to Wilwood to get the hydro clutch parts, and some YJ spring swap parts on the way as well. Looks like a Christmas time teardown is in order :)

so the computer was in the passanger kick panel, a tight spot ....after removing the unit I was able to remove the harness thru the firewall and out of the engine compartment
    [IMG]
I wanted to get the coil/regulator/and starter soelinoid w/ wiring which meant pruning all the un-needed wires from controls/lights/brakes/etc etc.....this is what was left
Just about done w/ the 88 lincoln hulk, now to start prepping the motor

Oh cool. I recall some guy suggesting a 5.0L swap. Hmmmm, now who was that????

Good luck with the swap. Should be a whole different animal than that little 289. Those Mk Lincolns got the Mustang engine. High nickel block, Moly rings, forged pistons, roller cam, 225hp. You'll dig it. Nice score. Leaving the compressor on the engine for onboard air?

Next thing you know you'll be slapping Waggy axles under it for some width and heading for Glamis!

thanks Christian on the advise ;)....yep I'm thinking I'll convert the AC to on board air.....won't be doing any axle changes for now, it's still my DD
gonna start the tear down during the holiday :)
