Alternator?

I've got a 5 wire alternator on a carb'ed 258.

there are two pairs of smaller thinner wires 14ga. maybe these pairs plug into the top, and i have one thicker wire, about 10ga. (red) coming off the bottom.

How do i wire this thing? I have the jeep running on battery only right now.

Is a '74 Motorola or Delco?

 

Motorola. I think i just need the external voltage regulator, i've got one on order, should be here tomorrow.

 

I was never able to figure out my motorola regulator. I'd carry 3 batteries with me and go wheeling for the day. Finally, I spent 40 dollars on a standard delco remy alternator from a firebird. Best thing i ever did. Its guarenteed for life too, for when you go through rivers.

 

yea, i cant figure mine out either, i think im just going to pick up a GM one wire alternator. Anyone know where i can get one cheap?

 

I was mad because the regulator cost 20 bucks. Half the price of my 75 firebird v6 alternator which I buy for all my jeeps at my FLAPS.
