I think it needs some of the cross bars over the headlights? The wire looking things?

Looks real good. Will look even better when you get the rest of the little things done.

    I think you're missing a hood block...;)

I have the hood block just not on yet. I am having trouble finding screws that are not to long or to short. The one on the jeep is only held on my one screw so I can rest the hood on the windshield frame without hurting my paint.

Engine is now back out of the jeep. The exhaust valve on the #1 cylinder failed. Now I at least know why I couldnt get it running right. The engine is at the machine shop now. It will need new exhaust valve, guide, and seat. Also need to replace the bearings, the shavings from the guide scored them a bit but the crank if fine. Then new seals and gaskets and she can go back together again and hopefully run right.

Have a big problem with my m38. About a month ago went to work on it, did a compression test and it read 0 for the #1 cylinder. Pulled the head off found the exhaust valve shot. My brother took the engine out stripped it and sent it to a little machine shop, ordered and recieved parts that he knew it need, told machine shop we wanted it done for last weekend. Saturday we finally find the owner of the shop, he had not touched, started taking valves out and found that we need to replace on the guides, and maybe the valve, I am mad because if he had taken things down ahead of time we would have had all the parts to put it back together again. When the guide on the #1 clyinder failed it sent metal shaving all through the engine and took out the bearings, good news is the crank looks fine so far, bearings look like someone took a file over them. Since I was working on the m38 I did take a ride and found a parts m38 that I can get. Very complete under the hood but the body is gone, engine still turns and it has been sitting for years. Has some parts I need then I will be selling the rest.

Engine is back into the jeep and she is running great. Have a few minor things to fix now such as the speedometer, it stopped working about a mile from the garage. I dont have any updated pics yet, but hope to soon.

I have some updated pics of my m38. They where taken today at Beaver Brook Falls in Colebrook NH. Needless to say she is running really well right now. Still need to paint the windshield frame, and get the 16 inch wheels on her.
