upper windshield hinge

Is this what they are supposed to look like? That upright bar that runs inside the frame looks like it was welded on as a after thought. It makes sense just want to know if these will fit my new frame (Not ordered yet)

 

Yes. That be them. They do look really rusty.

They are welded from the factory, and sometimes not real clean. I'd definitely clean them up and paint or powdercoat before installing in a new frame. I filled in the gaps with some strip caulking to allow my defrosters to work a little better so the air wasn't leaking out of the lower part of the frame so bad. Nickmil

 

Not any rustier than most things on this 56. That is why I have a small blasting booth. A little blasting some POR-15 a couple cover coats and good as well I can get it.

 

The factory only hired the finest welders for the assembly line (not!).

 

Those be them. Good cleaning and paint and they are good as new.

GOod tip on some selent to get the defroster to work better. Think I'll do that.
