I am stripping the wheels and axleshafts off my 73 parts jeep. I want to "leave it on blocks" but I figure cinder blocks arn't the brightest idea and wooden blocks arn't my cup of tea either. I'm trying to figure out a semi permanent solution to supporting this thing out in the woods. I guess I could weld up some brackets like the local junkyard. Or buy some cheapo jack stands and never look back. any ideas? I know there must be something real simple that I can't think of...

Jackstands. Just go ahead and buy 2 pairs of 6-ton stands. You'll never be sorry and you'll usually find a use for them.

Harbor Freight ones are fine, but the tack weld (or the roll pin depending on the model) holding the latch pin to the latch handle will eventually crack (or fall out). When it does, just shoot a weld bead in the roll pin bore as a permanant fix.

Jackstand in the woods you would have to put something like a patio block under it , or when you come back the frame will be sittng on the ground. Unless stands have a solid bottom.
