I have just torn apart the front knuckles on my 1969 CJ5 and I have installed new seals. My question is 140W gear oil ok to use. I have picked some Lubriplate SPO-277 and its straight 140W. Anyone use this, just wondering if its thick enough.
    Thanks

I used a mixture of 140 wt and grease. Do a search on "knuckle pudding".

I use straight 140 wt in mine and have no issues. Works fine for me.

I search the forum before I posted this thread and found some info. NOVAK said to use 140W. Just wanted to see if anyone had used Lubriplate or straight 140W thanks.
