Ahhh, the Holy Grail of Grails. Unobatnium in the aftermarket, even in the incorrect blue color. You can get the other ones, but not in the original green. I replaced all I could (old ones almost unreadable) except for the Hazard with the newer style. The translucent white light box leaks light around the edges, if it bother's me enough (not likely) I'll pull the new ones out and give them a coat of black paint to prevent light leakage. Give's somewhat of a circus quality to the dash at night. ICJ5 Bling, as it were.

But even the incorrect blue Hazard is nowhere to be found, after 18 months of fairly diligent searching. I'm by no means desperate enough for the "original" part on my trail jeep to have gone as far as looking in the back of Hemmings Motor News for one though.

I suspect a junkyard (yeah right), or a specialized jeep recycler (much more likely) are your only hope.

In case no one told you, aftermarket parts support is a problem with intermediate (72-75) Jeeps.

I'd suggest you fabricate something to fill the hole. If the missing part really bothers you, you could try one of the large Jeep-only parts places to see if they have one. The largest is likely J&W in Antelope, CA.

Unfortunately, as Farfle said, the original Hazard lenses were made from the rare Jeep mineral, Unobtanium.

I think a person could make a mint just off this forum if they could reproduce the original hazard lens.
Good Luck brother, if you can find more than one, name your price.

Pfft. Try getting parts for a commando. Those parts are made of ebaytanium, the most expensive metal known to man. Surprisingly, in it's natural form it is quite common, but the element becomes super "rare" or "only 100 built" when introduced to electronic media devices. R)R)R):)

Quick question to resurrect this post...I had the same problem, no hazard light. I opened the mailbox to have a look one day while I was working on wiring, and guess what I found? It was the original hazard lens (No, you can't have it!R)). My question is, are the newer '76 and up dash lamps the same size? I believe I could take my old lenses and add them to the new lights if they are the same size.

There currently is a NOS hazard light on Ebay. Search for Jeep hazard.

monkeys instead of us running the price up on each other, since that is 'new' could who ever wins it take it to a local print shop or photo store and make copies of it. We can get all the other back lights from basicly anywhere, remove the 'film' and place the coped 'harzard' in its place. I need one too.

FYI there's a guy on the Scrambler Forum who has linked up with a printer to make reproductions of the film "lens" part of these lights. You can buy the cheapo $5 reproduction light for wipers or something and insert one of his new films. He tried really hard to match them to the original green color. I think he's actually been selling complete lights with the new film already inserted. Not sure if he has HAZARD available or can order it but it seems this is our best and only shot. Hopefully you can read this thread without having to signup at CJ-8: http://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28456

I saw this thread and decided to have a look at my jeep. So I was just looking at both the dashs I have. One came with my new 73 yellow jeep and I pulled the one off my wrecked 74 red jeep. Both have the Hazard light assembly with the little words that say hazard and both are green and from everything I can tell both are original to the vehicles they came off.

All 3 of my lenses are in good shape, but the white lettering is nearly worn off. I'd like to know if this guy has the lenses as well.
