I'm in the process of installing the Howell TBI kit on my '77 304. Would like to hear opinions on the best way to install the fuel return line. I'm not against dropping the tank, but of course would prefer to avoid it if a good install can be done with the tank in place.

Howell suggests simply plumbing into the filler tube rubber hose. If anyone has done that successfully, would like to hear about it. Thanks.

By "vent line" you mean the smaller line that enters the tank just above the filler neck and connects on the other end with the filler tube? Thanks.

No, you want to use the factory return line, top center of the tank, in the fuel level sender. AFAIK that's what everybody uses for a return line.

There's a 3/4" line in the filler that helps vent the tank during filling. You could possibly put a line in there. There are also vapor recovery lines, ca 1/4" diam. You can't use the vapor recovery lines and still have vapor recovery work though.
