axles? what are they?

    front axle has casting no 27, tag no. has 39-8 4.88 and below has 30 also rear rear has no casting n0. but has gear nos and 44 but does not look like dana 44 but does have flanged axles

    OK, so the front is a D27.....
    Being a '71, the rear should be a D44 with flange axles... You have pics?

    front has casting no 27 where it should be but tag has 30 where model should be, but looks like 27 did they use same casting?

    Not exactly. Is it closed knuckle? If it's got 27 cast in the corner, it's a 27. Tag/ cover could have been swithched, as they are the same 25/27/30.
