Rim size?

    I believe I have the stock rims on my '63. I measured the rim and from edge to edge is 16". Would that make it a 16" rim or do they measure rim size differently. Are there stock CJ 5 rims that area 16" or are they all 15" on the civilian versions. The tires are quite old and do not state the rim size on the sidewall.

    If you measured 16" from the outer edge to the outer edge then it's a 15" wheel. The inner diameter of the tire is what determines the wheel size. The outer diameterof the wheel has to be lager so the tire will stay on.

    Measure the diameter where the bead seats.
