I'm a new member and glad to be here. Just acquired a1970 CJ5 with a v6. It has the T86 3 speed transmission. There is switch on the top plate of the transmission on the pass side toward the back. It is a 2 contact switch. I have tested it, but can't get it to close. I suspect this is the back up switch.
Is it the back up switch?
Is there a neutral safety switch on this jeep?
Do these type of switches fail often. Seem like a pretty simple switch with a little ball that depresses in.
    Thanks!
