    80-90 gear oil
I also add a small bottle of GM limited slip additive.
IH and maybe Ford made it as well.
I find that the oils that say they work for limited slip don't always when the oil gets hot, I've had chatter noise.

I am using Red Line 80-90 gear oil with an additive. I have heard about the chattering also. Mine seems to work fine.

I'm using LS additive made by BG Industries right now, but I've used Equa Torq made by Trans X and Ford Motorsports LS additive and one made by Sta Lube.
And yes, IME, they chatter and get "grabby" without additive..

The gear lubricants that say they are compatible with limited slips mean just that, they are compatible with the clutches and won't deteriorate them. Doesn't mean they actually have the additive in them. You still need to put in the limited slip additive.

    Who here is using Lucas?
I have heard, read, that if you use straight Lucas in place of 80-90 you don’t need LSD additive. Anyone?

I used Lucas for a while, I still used an additive. I figured for a few bucks extra, why not?

that's what my chatter experience was with.
    drained and refilled with Lucas.
drove about 200 highway miles, so lubricant was road temp.
turned right coming off the highway ramp and thought the rear end was coming out from under the Jeep...it was that noisy.
did it once more on that vacation trip, added LS additive, no more problem.
