anyone know of a good source for a rebuilt 2100 carb ?

Napa has one listed for my 74 304, but I can't tell for the pic if it's the themo-electric choke or pure electric. anyone know or is there an enthusiast that does these as restorations to sell?

I was hoping to possibly pickup a rebuilt unit and do the original over in more leisure time. The original on it is probably ok , can't tell until I have the exhaust on and rest of engine happy to actually tune it.

I guess most of it is completely exorcising the PO's mostly failed efforts, and he mentioned he rebuilt the carb, so if he's so far done everything else incorrectly, it's chances aren't looking stellar.......... :(

the 2100 is pretty simple. I'd say skip the rebuilt one and jsut get a rebuiild kit, block out a few hours one afternoon and be done. Alot cheaper that way.

I've heard people mention ponycarbs (possibly on ebay?) before.

if it's easier than a double pumper webber, or a SOLEX PDSIT I would be ok! :)
Maybe I'll look for another cheapie one and two rebuild kits to get practice in.
I am probably ok to get running and tune it with the one on, as I did drive it 200+ miles, while fearing for my life, but that was due to the suspension ready to fall off! :) Fixed that first........ :)

Easiest carb I've ever worked with. Literally a 20 minute rebuild. They're incredibly simple. Try to rebuild yours before you spend big bucks on a "remanufactured" one from a FLAPS.

I bought one off Ebay a couple of years ago. Worked good, EFI works great:)

There was a guy on eBay that sold complete carburetors ... pretty sure it's this guy: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/merchant/ehrmannmp?_rdc=1 Lots of positive comments about him.

Pony Carburetors is another possibility http://www.ponycarburetors.com/ - they seem to have a lot of expertise in this area.

Check to see if Napa will get a carb for you without a core... this is important if you want to keep your core. If you have a tag now, be sure and keep it whatever you do.

I agree with above, the 2100 is a very simple carb. As long as the throttle pivots are not worn out, a home rebuild will be easy.

None of this era used a 100% electric element AFAIK. All 2100s will be thermoelectric.

    Yeah, just rebuild yours yourself.

I bought my kit from NAPA, frankly, most of the kits come with multiple gaskets and pieces to fit most 2100 models.

I also agree, easiest carb I ever rebuilt, no reason to pay a premium on an hour of work, 30min cleaning, 30min rebuilding.

I got a few extra parts for the carb from some online suppliers, but napa might have them as well. I replaced the jets, choke pull off, and power valve - none of those come in the kit.

Included: all gaskets, power valve, accelerator pump, valve seat and needle valve, check ball and weight.
Not included: jets, float, choke pull off

You may or may not need these items, the only item that might be difficult to get from NAPA would be the jets, but you probably don't need them. (They are different than Holley jets)

Pony Carbs does rebuilds and calibration. I bought a 2100 off Ebay but contacted Pony when trying to locate a choke stove.. They are extremely knowledgable.
