So I bought a replacement fuel sending unit and 21 circuit EZ-wire kit. I am almost done with the rewire. Just need coolant temp sensor, fuel sender, and headlights. I am having issue because the fuel sending unit I ordered only has 1 nut on it and when I try to loosen it the whole stud loosens. I tried to go to the hardware store to get a nut to put on the stud to attach the wire, but I can't match the thread pitch. Does anyone know what the thread pitch should be? 1/4-20 is too big, and #10 (coarse and fine) won't thread on.

    Thanks,
    Scott

I believe the stud was intended for a push on terminal, that is how I had to do mine. The stud did not appear to have threads deep enough for a nut of any type that I tried.

Yes, I would guess 10-32, though it could be 10-24 also. The push-on connectors work fine - snip one from a car at the pick-your-part if you don't have one.

Ended up finding the correct nut. I took the one installed holding the stud into the hardware store and matched up to M5.8. Never dawned on me to try metric until someone here suggested it, and sure enough it was.

    Thanks,
    Scott
