    What year did the battery tray move from the right front frame to the firewall?

    AFAIK the firewall battery was a V6 thing.

    Yep, with the V6 came the firewall mounted battery.

    Somewhere's between '66 & '68 I believe they did away with the frame mounted tray for the F4 and adopted the firewall battery tray same as the V6, with a fender mounted air cleaner.
