I am bolting the trans crossmember back in my 59 cj5/t90 jeep...the po had 3/8 bolts holding it at the frame but they go in really tight. Is this the correct diameter or should they be 5/16 to give some wiggle room?

I am also confused about spacers at the crossmember to frame...I have searched and found that some have them and some dont but do I really need them on a stock jeep with no lift?

    Thanks in advance

    3/8 bolts.
If you bolt it up without spacers, you might have clearance issues between the trans and floor board.
