I finally decided to get a brass float for my 2G(still having minor flooding and hesitation issues)(Napa Part #2-439). I have done the requisite searches and have come up with nothing for the settings and where to measure to for the brass float. This float did not come with any instructions nor did my rebuild kit have anything for a brass float.

Anyone? Sparky, i think you are running one. Patrick? Help........

Measure from gasket surface to the sharp edge of the seam around the perimeter of the float, with the air horn inverted (obviously), for float level.
What year, and do you have a carb number? Lemme run out and grab an inst. sheet,

Cool! I assume the first # is the measurement from the gasket to the seam on the float for fuel level height? And the second is the max drop for lowere level? This Is a 71 if that makes a difference.

Yes, from the gasket, to the edge of the seam closest to the gasket.
Brass float not shown for '71. Doesn't matter, use the 1/2".
    Actually, I run mine 7/16-15/ 32".

A little late on the reply but it worked! I finally found some older rebuild paperwork that came with one of my jeeps and it did show the exact dimensions you stated Patrick. Thanks for the info.

Funny thing is I haven't moved my jeep in about 3 weeks. I started it up...................and filled it with gas! The float was stuck again! I finally got it started and moving and to the driveway to change it. 20 minutes later it was done and working terrifically!

    Thanks again
