My driver's side pivot is broke. Will a '76 pivot fit?

I avoided responding to your previous Q about this ... because I'm not certain. But they look the same from my memory of them. I thought that the main difference was in the length of the arms.

If you look at the George's Jeep Parts site http://www.willys.net/html/windshield.html the replacement link looks like it's a later link with the length changed to fit. The picture of the complete linkage is too small to really tell... but it does say that it is not compatible with the existing linkage. This would suggest that there is some difference between the newer and older parts.

Can you source the pivots by themselves?

I haven't found any new sources and used tend to be on their last leg (much like I have now). I may just give it a shot and see. If it will fit the frame alright I should be able to work w/ the other end. The linkage is all still good.:v6:

Typical. I'm going to order one and see if I can modify it. The trip back from ID required 2 stops for Rain-X, I gotta get some wipers.:v6:

could be just the pivot height or length
as the 76 and later w/shields are angled back more
    ?????

I went ahead and sent off for the complete linkage from George's Jeep Parts as I found my short link was broken also. It appears to be just a cut and rewelded '76 and up link. The pivot is basically the same. The only difference I could tell was the attachment pin is larger. It would probably be just a matter of drilling out the bushing to make it work on an early set. Here's some comparison pictures.
