I have been lucky enough to find a Meyers full top for my 61 CJ that was on a 72 that went rag top. I have searched the archives and do know that the top will fit the 61( measurements confirm that) and that it is indeed a Meyers Top. I do however need pictures of the original door hinge set up if at all possible since the top doesn't have them and I guess I will have to make some. Also what was used for a seal under the front of the top at windshield mounting????

    Pictures will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Dave

Don't have any pictures, Dave. The edge is sealed with rope caulk IIRC. Beige stuff that comes rolled up, separated by paper, and is about 3/16" in diameter. Made of clay and oil mostly.

Thanks, I am going to try and pick up the top today and I will start fixing it up before mounting up. The top appears to have been rattle canned blacik and I am going to repaint white again as the Jeep will be painted a beige Tan color. What exactly was used for the lift gate to hold the thing open and not "mouse trap" shut on you???

There's a prop on either side that latches the first time you lift the door. Lift it again and the latch releases, and you can close the door.
