Windshield frame/soft top problem

I bought a new soft top for my 75 CJ5 to replace the old ratty one. I got it on and it didnt quite fit right. The frame leans back too far. The upper doors extend about two inches in front of where the top of the windshield frame is and the top wasnt snug. I called 4wd.com and they said I must have a 76 windshield frame. I got my new frame in today and its exactly the same as the one I have on now. I did some research and its definitly a 75 frame, 4wd verified the top is for a 75 also. Im at a loss here. I have the cowl seal installed. Is there something im missing. Ive been trying to find one around here I can take a look at but I havent found one. Any advice would be helpful.
