    Well, IIRC mine had a strap like Eric's, and it was used to hold the windshield down when it was folded. There must have been another footman loop on the hood. <oops - behind the curve here>

    Right...one footman on the hood to tie the w/s down to when "buggy teeth" Jeeping...

    And the angled one on the inside of the w/s is to loop the canvas strap out of the way when driving with the w/s up.

    What the other interior footman loops are for...I dunno. Storage for the softop door rods?

    mine mounts to the lower portion of windshield frame and is rivited on. It says Lucas on it.It looks like its original but I donot know for sure been there for years. But mine is an older cj5. Is it aftermarket or is it original?
