69 vs 70 cj5

I was looking to buy an early cj5 with the buck v6. I saw a 69 which had side pipe exhausts and the gas tank under the drivers seat. The 70 I saw had rear exhausts (I think) and the tank in the rear. Are there any other major differences between the 2 model years? Also one had a fiberglass tub and the other had a new metal tub. Does the fiberglass tub decrease it's value much? Thanks

The 70 may have one piece rear axle shafts.

The 'glass tub is a matter of preference. I prefer a steel tub, but some like fiberglass. The main advantages of the fiberglass are it's rust-proof, and costs less than a new steel replacement tub. Fiberglass looks like a fiberglass tub, but it's not noticable from more than a few fet away. Steel is basically the same as what the factory supplied.

AMC took over Jeep in 1970, so the '70 may have some of the features that AMC introduced, like the new rear axle and the rear-mounted gas tank. Basically the same otherwise.
