Basic Wiring

    Need to do some wiring on a 255, V-6 engine to see if it is going to run. I need just basic wiring to run the engine. Here is what I plan on doing, tell me if something is wrong or needs to be done different

    Battery positive to starter
    Battery positive to starter switch to solenoid
    Battery positive to ballast, out of ballast to positive on coil.
    Negative on coil to distributer/ condenser.
    Battery negative to block.
    Removing power from ballast will kill engine.

    "R" terminal on the solenoid to the coil side of the ballast. Supplies 12V to the coil while cranking.
