My sons needs to do a motor over for school, my 232 just isn't giving me the "giggles" anymore -and it's a jeep, if it's runniong great, you can't leave it alone. Need I say more?:D
I have a few months til he needs it, so I can be "selective" and collect some goodies for it.
    It's gonna be a 258 or if I can find a 4.0 H.O.
I see a TON in the "orphan yard" in various wrecks.
IF I find a good donor, does it need to be a standard for the clutch pilot bearing??
When I was a Chevy nut, decades ago, that was a key issue, find a crank drilled to acept the bushing.
What about this here jeep motors????

Sometimes I THINK too much and other times I don't think at all, but most of the time I can't remember sh**!

Don't know. I think all the cranks are drilled, but there's some issue with the pilot bearing size, year by year. I would ask at www.jeepstrokers.com or NAXJA. A search either place might turn up an answer.

    Rodger!
The guy down the street has a rusted hulk of a cherrokee in his yard with a sticker on the side that states it a 4.0 HO. It's an auto, (I serviced the trans a few years ago), and think that may be my donor motor, electronic ign system, hence the question.
I figure I can always MAKE a bushing fit with a bit of time on a lathe and a reamer, but had failed an drilling a pilot hole in a crank long time ago, (perhaps I did have too much beer-or not enough??)

If I was smart I just leave the 232 in. But, I a long time "jeep junkie", which proves my brain isn't wired quite right!bunny with a pancake.
