side steps

    will side "boot steps" from earlier model CJ5s work on the intermediate CJ5s? online references list 55 to 71 and then 76 and later.

    Yes. '75 down all use the same steps. '76 up are different.

    You need to make a few mods to the reproduction steps.
    They are made in India and are pretty cheeseball but are usable. Not to mention, they are the only game in town.

    You have to redrill the two holes down the middle of the frame bracket,add some blocks to clamp the side brackets better, and throw away all the nuts and bolts that they come with and use some real bolts
    I made new side brackets to tuck the steps up about 1.5" for ground clearance
