Going to check out a 304/T-15/dana20 in a 73 cj5 to put in my 72 cj5. Owner says it cuts off once warmed up, I suspect ignition module. Looking for advice on what all I should check out. I'm taking a compression gauge, what else should I look for? Of coarse I'll pull the dipstick and look for traces of water, check the plugs, and pull a valve cover. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated

Well, a '73 came with points ignition, just like your '72. So unless it's been converted, you can rule out ignition module problems.

"No run" or "no start" problems are almost always because of loss of fuel or loss of spark. So the "cuts off when warm" problem almost certainly has nothing to do with any condition issues you care about.

Sounds to me like you have a good plan for checking out the engine. My main concern would be that the engine does not run long enough to get up to operating temperature, so you can't get a good reading for hot idle oil pressure. These engines can have low oil pressure at idle due to bad cam bearings, and if so, you'll need a complete tear-down to repair. So hot idle oil pressure is an important data point.
