Any tricks to remove a disintegrated pilot bearing? The only part that is left is the outer race.

The old wet toilet paper and wooden dowel might do the trick?

Or you could use grease instead of wet TP.
That's how I got all the old pilot bearings out of VW flywheels

I have used grease successfully but if it's really in there maybe some pb blaster followed by pulling tool.

I really need to visit Harbor Freight more often. Seems I'm missing the neat tools.

Sounds like you have (had??) a needle bearing unit???

I doube the grease or TP trick will work, probably best to use somthing like a slide hammer, if you can get something in there to grab the edge of the outer race.

Bread. Seriously. Easiest method I've ever used. Stuff the hole with bread and drive in a dowel or bolt to force it out with hydraulic pressure.

The proper tool is best, but a tap or screw and it's out in 30 seconds without a mess.

Yes it's in the 4.3 motor.

Thank for the PM info. I'll clean it.
