Ha...Eventually. I talked about pulling my motor for a year...I have no plans of paint anytime soon. It's too beautiful out...I'm driving it as much as possible. (y)

    Thanks Tim...Good idea.

I may be changing direction. I've been using Plasti Dip on my wheels for years. I revisited Dip Your Car - World Famous Peelable Auto Paint and for about $300 I think I can get everything I need (includes spray/paint gun). Then I could "dip" other cars, my son wants to dip his 280ZX.

FWIW - my 70cj5 is an unknown blue repaint over original Spruce Tip Green. I'd say the repaint is pretty close to a Sierra blue. Or maybe it should just be called faded, oxidized and rusted blue. My wife really likes the blue, but I think I would repaint STG - think that would look better with a new black softtop one day. Of course, if it wasn't originally STG, I'd be less inclined to go that direction. The 47v6orange (and others from the orange jeep thread) is starting to grow on me.

At risk of being the odd man out, I guess, but I like your paint/color scheme just the way it is.

It's always been my plan for my Jeep to go with the OD green, black armor and wheels, and maybe a decal or two or some custom lettering. I hadn't considered the black stripe on the hood, but I actually like it.

If you'll just go ahead and hurry up getting yours painted a different color... then I can copycat you without being accused of copycatting :p

    UPDATE

Here's the Push Button Electric Start info. It's really pretty simple to install. The kit - Amazon.com: EASYGUARD Push Engine Start Stop button

You can see the brain for the unit laying on the towel near the shifter. The black ring is the antenna for the key fob. The toggle switch in the picture is for another project, it's not part of the kit. The kit cost me $45 on Amazon.

The button fit right in the keyed ignition hole without any drilling. If I ever want to go back to a key...All my wiring was done cleanly as not to ruin the stock wiring. (y)

I'd like to floor mount one of those. It would probably not last long though.

So you've been living with your floater setup for a month now. Has everything been cool with it so far?

    Yes.

I've noticed my tires want to bark when taking off from a stop. I think it's because there's no weight on the axles now?

It didn't do that before? Is that the only thing you had changed when it started doing that?

I think Focker is wearing heavier boots since the axle conversion.

More down force applied to the skinny pedal, translated through all the cogs and shafts to the small footprint under the rear tires, resulting in the bark from a standing stop to go...

I get a bark every now and then as well. I figured it was just my fresh powerlok was a bit tight. I have about 800 mi on my ff kit.

It's a new feeling. It's not drastic, just feels different.
