I couldn't see me getting rid of my jeep after doing all the work to get it where it is now. Just to do it again for one with a v6. I would save my money and buy the stuff for a swap.

X2. The only reason I am re-building mine from the ground up is that it was my grandfathers. If it wasn't for the sentimental value, I'd sell it or part it out and then buy one already done. At least I would buy one that was a lot closer to what I wanted and then finish it. From a financial stand point I'd say sell it now. Any money you put into it from this point on is just lost and gone forever. If you are really attached to it, then make it the way you want and don't count the cost.

I understand I know you do not enjoy working on these things. I do enjoy the learning experience. And my old jeep has been in the family since 82. I'm sure I will have it forever no matter what transformations it undergoes.

What about getting a tow rig and a trailer? I bet you could find a truck fairly cheeply that would tow it no problems......

i have no place to put stuff like that.
as it is i am going to have to find someplace else to put my hotrod.
    thank you though.
i did put a craigslist add out today.
if it sells for what i want.
then i will find a different one.

    and if it dont sell?

    wah poor me
i am stuck with a cool vintage jeep.....

    They SUCK on hills.
Unless you have power to use it, you'll not touch it in 3rd gear. 2nd OD is how I have to run hills with the L head.

A bunch of us should be down there in a few weeks, hold off till then, see what people have.
You might have a few ideas, a few ways to go from seeing what is around.
Personally, I think you have a pretty sweet Jeep.
But maybe we can start negotiating for my Commando as swap material, I know it will do at least 85mph on the highway.
Or mebee I'll sober up tomorrow...
And deny any knowledge of this communication.

Your other option is the one we talked about - send it to someone who knows how to do the swap and you only have to buy the parts... I'll need a couple months to recover from the 1 month frame off build we are finishing today though :)

And yes - I am supposed to get copies of the pics and ******* (my neighbor on whos rig we did the build on) is a member here.

I have to admit. Seeing that Bill does not have to sell the Slug sort of touched my heart. :)
