Put regular mufflers on it and run the exhaust all the way out the back and have it exit out the corner(s). Single exhaust is typically quieter than duals. Exhaust manifolds are much quieter than headers.

Just put some 20 inch mufflers on mine and it did quieten it down quite a bit, but I can see where running all the way out back would be quieter.

Yep, iron manifolds will be quieter than headers, regardless of which mufflers you use.

If you use regular turbo type mufflers and have the tailpipes ran back to the rear corners (as Nick suggested, also how I ran mine) it should be fairly quiet. Mine is. I used Cherry Bomb Turbo II's from Autozone.

That's what I had on mine. 18 inch I think. Just a little too loud for my taste. Might have been ok if I was 19 again. Lol

I have stock manifolds but had dual exhaust dumping in front of the tires. I got sick of crushing my side exit exhaust when rock crawling and the noise. I ended up converting to single exhaust and I really like the way it sounds now. A little rumble but not super loud. No more crushed pipes either!

They're turbo type mufflers, made by Cherry Bomb (Maremont)
    They're pretty quiet.

Sorry I didn't clarify. Mine were glasspacks. I know that probably makes a big difference as you can see all the way through them.

When I built my current tailpipes, I put glass packs on it (Cherry Bomb).
They were on there for 2 days. I went back to the turbos.
FWIW, all glass packs are not created equal. If you use the ones with the little louvers inside (directional) they aren't near as loud as the perforated ones like the Cherry Bomb.
