Hey all, the wheels I have on my '55 are starting to look pretty beat. They're 15x7 chrome 8 spoke "wagon wheels" with 33x10.50's on them. The have 3.75" of backspace. I'd like to get a bit of a wider stance on the Jeep, one for stability, and two I think it will look better with the fender flares that are on it. I'm looking at some 15x8's with 2.5" backspacing. These: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PCW-99-5885R2-5/
Anyone running anything similar and have some pics? If I do the math right, the outside of the wheel will be moved outward 2.25" per side, making the track width 4.5" wider. (1" wider wheel + 1.25" more backspace) Did I figure that right?

I'd stay with chrome on it. I've always liked the way your Jeep looks..

I got mine from spidertrax.. Very (VERY) heavy duty steel with the stem moved way inboard and I gained about 4" total width.. I am very happy with them. You can kinda see the backspace here..

Bright red CJ-5 with a tan top & chrome wheels? Sounds familiar! :D
My wheels are 15x8 chrome, but I don't remember the backspacing...

33x10.5R15 KM2s on 7" rims, 2.5" backspacing. Note that this is an intermediate, so the front wheel track is already 2" wider than a CJ 27.

This Jeep now has plastic flares - it would never pass inspection without flares.

Thanks for all the pics guys, it really helps. I think I'm going to go with the 2.5 backspace, it'll be wider, but still under my flares
